Flexium and Unimicron Fined for Environmental Violations in China

Taiwan-based Flexium Interconnect and Unimicron Technology have both been fined for violating environmental regulations in Kunshan, China, according to Digitimes.

Flexible PCB manufacturer Flexium issued a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) on October 16 disclosing that its Kunshan plant has been fined CNY941,700 ($136,000) by the local government for violating environmental regulations.

For its part, PCB and IC substrate maker Unimicron disclosed in a TWSE filing that its Kunshan-based subsidiary has been fined CNY657,000 for breaking local environmental laws. The company was already fined CNY380,000 by the local government for violating requirements for environmental impact assessment last August, according to Digitimes.
