Makers Eye Stable Automotive PCB Shipments for ADAS in 2019

Taiwan PCB makers do not expect any significant growth in sales of automotive boards in 2019 amid lackluster car sales worldwide, but they are expected to maintain stable shipments of high-end boards for ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) increasingly being adopted in premium cars, whose sales are less affected by global economic slowdown, according to Digitimes.
ADAS is now the main application outlet for high-end PCBs such as HDI (high density interconnection) and rigid-flex boards, and Taiwan's leading suppliers of such boards including Chin Poon Industrial and Tripod Technology are aggressively pursuing technological advancements to roll out offerings with ever-higher-precision specs required for more advanced applications at premium cars, Digitimes reports.
