Flexible PCB specialist Zhen Ding Technology (ZDT) saw its net profit for the second quarter of 2019 surge by 77.62% on year to NT$1.785 billion ($56.85 million) on revenues of NT$23.08 billion, up 11.46% from a year earlier. ZDT attributed the profit expansion to better product portfolios and production automation improvement, in addition to foreign exchange gains and interest incomes.
The firm's July revenues fell 7.23% on year to NT$9.375 billion, and its January-July revenues also shrank 3.11% on year to NT$51.867 billion. Though it is unlikely to achieve on-year revenue growth in the second half of the year amid weak handset sales sentiment, ZDT still expects its third-quarter revenues to be at the same level of a year earlier.
