Patrice Lavoie, vice-president of sales and business development at EMS provider Varitron, has joined intelliFLEX Innovation Alliance's board of directors.
Lavoie is an industry veteran with more than 22 years of experience, having previously worked at CMC Electronics and Ultra Electronics, along with having experience in technology transfer and military applications.
"We're excited that Patrice has accepted the Board’s invitation to join our dynamic group of business leaders," said Paul Smith, Chair of intelliFLEX's Board of Directors. "His nearly 25 years in electronics manufacturing, and experiences at Varitron—one of Canada’s top five EMS providers—will be invaluable as we help Canada’s established electronics and design industry chart a new path for growth with flexible and hybrid electronics."
Lavoie has industrial engineering background combined with IPC Class 3 training and has previously worked as a business unit manager, director of operations, and supply chain manager, among other roles. "I am excited to join the intelliFLEX board and shape the future of FHE and intelliFLEX, so we can increase Canada’s involvement in next-generation additive electronics manufacturing," said Lavoie. "I believe FHE will be a dominant next tech area for all electronics manufacturers, including the semiconductor industry as it can add intelligence to ordinary objects more economically with unique form factors."
He joins the board as an ex-officio member until his nomination can be voted upon at intelliFLEX’s Annual General Meeting next May.
"With this latest addition, intelliFLEX's board has strong Quebec representation, where over a quarter of the $25-billion Canadian electronics industry resides," said intelliFLEX CEO Peter Kallai.
